Legendary Soave producer Leonildo Pieropan produces not just some of the best wines in Italy but some of the best wines in the world.

The Recioto di Soave is made by pressing air dried Gargenega grapes which have be lying on straw mats for 5 months after harvest. This process intensifies the sugars and flavours in the grapes. A small amount of Botriytis affected grapes are also included in the blend. This is then aged for 2 years in large oak vats before release.

The resulting wine is highly complex with apricot jam, toffee apple, canned peach and almond notes on the nose. The palate is long and intense with a gorgeous level of sweetness which is cleaned out with freshening acidity to balance.

Super wine which will match well with fruit based desserts or cheeses.
