When we make up your order all the products are double checked before despatch and leave our premises in perfect condition. Dry goods and bottles are carefully packed. Fresh food and vegetables are cut/sliced/packed on the day of despatch and wrapped with ice packs for temperature control where necessary. Fresh foods can ONLY be sent to UK Mainland (excluding the Highlands) addresses using our Premium or Standard next day services.
Tickets and vouchers are sent by first class post. Where tickets or vouchers are ordered along with other items, the entire order will be despatched together using the standard delivery methods as detailed below.
We contract various couriers to deliver our products to all addresses (outwith Edinburgh) in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Eire. Orders that only contain tickets or vouchers are sent by first class post. On the delivery address form, as well as the delivery address, we recommend that you specify an alternative delivery address WITHIN THE SAME POSTCODE, i.e. within 50 metres of the first delivery address, OR a secure location at the first delivery address such as "the porch", "the garage", etc - but entirely at your risk. We also ask for the telephone number of the delivery address. All this extra information, which will be retained if you register with us, will help to ensure that your order is delivered on time.
If the driver has to deliver to the alternative address, or leave at the secure location or in exceptional circumstances bring your order back to the depot, he or she will put a card through your letterbox with an explanation and contact details. Delivery Rates and Services for 2017
Unfortunately due to increased courier costs, it is regrettable to say that we have little option but to modify our shipping charges for 2017. The good news is that we are working on a brand new website, that will significantly improve the functionality and usability of our online offering. This will include many improvements including changes to our checkout and payment process but we will also be adding more options to ensure you can enjoy a more flexible and personalised shopping experience with V&C. We aim to have our new website live by the end of March 2017 and will certainly be updating you with more information on what to expect before then. We will also be in a better position to refine our delivery charges to coincide with these major updates but until then we will be implementing the following change to our shipping charges at the start of January.
