DiscAbMo Offer
Following our successful regional wine offer, this week our buyers have selected two regions, Marche and Abruzzo. The first region is renowned for the white Verdicchio and second is best known for the red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.

Both regions have more to offer and you can find them all here.

Verdicchio Valbona 2018 Belisario £11.99
From the Marche region, Verdicchio is the local favourite white. This is a lovely aromatic wine on the nose with a clean bouquet of acacia and a touch of honey. On the palate it is dry with a great structure and balance. The finish is vibrant with crisp green apple and lemon flavours.

Passerina 2018 Fazi Battaglia £14.99
This a white wine from Marche made using the local grape variety Passerina. The nose has hints of peach and apricot, spicy notes of hay and white pepper. The palate is fresh and tangy with a long citrus finish.

Montepulciano Bio 2018 Fantini £14.59
This is an unoaked style of organic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Ruby red in colour with garnet hints. It has a very intense nose of vibrant dark bramble fruits and cherry, complemented by floral notes. These follow through onto the palate which is concentrated, full-bodied and well-balanced with firm but smooth tannins.

Rosso Conero 17 Belisario £14.99
A red wine from one of the 12 DOC appellations in Abruzzo. This Rosso Conero is produced using 100% Montepulciano  grapes. The wine has bright aromas of cherries, black fruit and espresso coffee. On the palate intense red cherries, notes of mocha and a good tannic structure, making the wine very pleasant and enjoyable to drink.

Lacrima di Morro D'Alba 2018 Cantine Belisario £14.89
Lacrima is a dark-skinned grape variety native to Italy's Marche region. The word lacrima means teardrop in Italian and is probably reference to the fact that the berries have a tendency to split, dripping juice down the outside of the bunch. Intense, rose, geranium and violet perfumes are followed by notes of myrtle and cinnamon. Medium bodied and dry while fresh and fruity on the palate with balsamic hints.

Yume Montepulciano d’abruzzo 2016 Caldora  £23.99
A fabulous Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. The wine is aged in a combination of French and American Oak to add spicy aromas and soften the tannins. The palate is richly dry and smooth with cherry fruit, hint of chocolate and spice flavours. It has a very good structure and concentration, with soft tannins and a fresh acidity.
