This year we have many events including plenty of the usual wine tastings, cookery demonstrations, fungi forays and free in-store tastings. Ticket availability is noted for each event. Some will sell out well in advance of the date, particularly the Fungi Forays - we advise booking early. Dates and prices for events shown below may be subject to change.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe

It's Fringe Festival Time at Valvona & Crolla! Our Gift Room will be transformed into a busy 70 seat theatre with 3 to 4 shows every day. Tickets are now available for all our shows from our online shop, or by telephone - 0131 556 6066. Tutored walk and picnic
Saturday 11th September, 7.30am - 3pm | £48 including coach travel and light lunch, or £45 per person when you buy two or more tickets | Buy tickets
Tutored expedition, this year led by Professor Roy Watling's esteemed colleague Neville Kilkenny. Travel by coach to a secret location chosen by Neville Kilkenny as an area likely to supply a wide range of fungi. Includes an early morning coffee and after the foray a light packed lunch of food and wine from Valvona & Crolla will be provided. Neville Kilkenny will then identify any mushrooms found and will entertain and educate with a fascinating talk about the joys and dangers of wild fungi. Depending on weather, the coach will return to Valvona & Crolla at 3pm. Sturdy walking shoes and waterproof clothing are essential. Don't forget a basket for your mushrooms!

Each month our wine buyer will select 6 wines from our prize winning collection to be tutored, tasted and enjoyed between 15.

Join us in Valvona & Crolla and discover the delights of their stunning range of Prosecco in an open tasting hosted by Isabella Bisol of the illustrious 'first family' of Prosecco.

We don’t just stock the cream of Italian wine you know! We also have a beautifully chosen selection of wines form all over the world. Sample the best from our New World selection in October’s exclusive First 15 Tasting. Featuring wines from De Gras (Chile), Plantagenet (Australia), Lawson’s (New Zealand), Urlar (new Zealand and Bianchi (Argentina), you will be astounded by the quality on offer. These wines are so good we wish they were Italian!
