Veteran Edinburgh writer and performer, MikeMaran, follows Dante's giant footsteps in a journeythrough Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso in searchof love. These final performances, which last twohours including one interval, are Mike's Fringefarewell.

Venue 67 Guitar Homages - Luca Villani
Fantastic new recital by Italian guitarist Luca Villani, who interprets great pieces composed by the finest guitar composers celebrating other musicians. The Mexican Manuel Ponce Sonata Clasica is, in fact, a perfect homage to Fernando Sor, the classical guitar icon.Joaquin Rodrigo poignant Invocaciòn y Danza is an homage to Manuel de Falla, who gave spark with Homenaje à Debussy to the modern guitar. Another flamenco style piece is the sparkling Joaquin Turina Homenaje a Tàrrega. Finally, the Hommage à Chopin is a gem by the polish Alexandre Tansman to his greatest patriot artist. ‘Wonderful to hear’ (Scotsman).

Venue 67 Scotland's Story - The Five Freens
Traditional, contemporary Scottish songs by five of Scotland's celebrated folk musicians. Captivating songs about the peoples that make up Scotland –Scandinavian, Welsh, Irish, French etc. The Scottish cultural melting pot. The struggle to make it work.

The show includes 5 all-stars of the traditional music scene in Scotland.  Fred Freeman is the   producer / musical director of several internationally   acclaimed CDs; not the least being his Complete   Songs of Robert Burns (12 vols, Linn Records) and   his Complete Songs of Robert Tannahill (4 vols   completed; 1 more to come).  The other players :   John Morran the lead singer / cittern player with   Deaf Shepherd; Wendy Weatherby one of the noted   solo singers and cellists of the Scottish folk scene;   Sandy Brechin,one of the greatest accordion players of   his generation, with Burach; Marc Duff, a   multi-instrumentalist, played with Capercaillie for years, and now freelances extensively.
