EDINBURGH TRAM WORKS UPDATE
The tram works in the Leith Walk area have abated and access to Elm Row via Montgomery Street is good and parking is good. However, Gas Works on London Road between Elm Row and Easter Road have commenced and the top end of Elm Row is closed off until the works are completed by the end of July in time for the Festival. More Information
VALVONA & CROLLA warmly welcomes you to our web site and online shop. From market stall to dot com, we now serve the nation from our original premises in Edinburgh. We are Scotland's oldest Delicatessen and Italian Wine Merchant; one of Europe's original Specialist Food Shops, founded in 1934. From our humble beginnings, serving the fledgling immigrant Italian community in old Edinburgh, we now list food products and wines from around the world, and supply the entire UK with an efficient, speedy delivery system that boasts a next-day service to 90% of the population.
We are an independent family business - free to place before you new and exciting products together with our more traditional food and wine. Our roots are firmly planted in tradition - our growth is nourished by technology - our future lies in the pursuit of ever increasing quality, value and service in all that we do.
In the online shop you will find our own-baked bread, cakes and biscuits, and an extensive range of cheese, champagne, cookery books, coffee, tea, kitchenware, pasta, rice, salami, sausages, oil, vinegar, port, dessert wine, whisky and wine - lots of wine!
We hold tastings and cookery demonstrations in our Caffè Bar throughout the year. We also have an on-site gift room and book shop which is converted into a 70 seat theatre during August to become a venue in the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival.
Do not hesitate to email us from the contact page with any enquiry or problem.
Best wishes and thank you for your custom.

"Impeccable produce, sourced with a very keen palate, displayed with unnerving generosity,
genial service, fabulous wine section, zippy cafe - this place is the dog's family jewels when it comes to food shopping"

“No trip to Edinburgh is complete without a visit to Valvona & Crolla, opened by the Contini family in 1934. [A] joyous range of food, Italian and local. The staff are passionate and knowledgeable and the place is a visual feast, too”
